Shade Lapite

Shade Lapite is British–Nigerian and has drawn on her heritage to create the world of her debut novel. Her parents had moved to the UK from Nigeria in the 1970s, so her upbringing was a real mishmash of UK and Nigerian culture. She spent a significant slice of her childhood nestled in the library, inhaling books by Diana Wynne Jones, Tamora Pierce, Lois Duncan and Mildred D Taylor. Her love for the arts led her to a degree in Media Arts at Royal Holloway, University of London. She now lives in Toronto and juggles writing with her career in digital marketing. She writes in cafes, libraries, museums, art galleries—anywhere with comfortable chairs and big windows. Her blog, Coffee Bookshelves, celebrates writing and promotes titles by authors of colour. You can find her fangirling over Korean dramas on Twitter @TheShadyFiles or sharing her favourite books on Instagram

Matthew Blake

After discovering that the average person spends thirty-three years of their life asleep, Matthew Blake felt the pull of a story. He began extensive research into sleep-related crimes and into the mystery illness known as resignation syndrome, research that sparked a thrilling question: if someone commits murder while sleepwalking, are they innocent or guilty? And so his No1 bestselling novel Anna O was born. Before writing fiction, Matthew worked as a researcher and speechwriter at the Palace of Westminster. He studied English at Durham University and Merton College, Oxford and now lives in London.

Georgie May

Georgie May, in her transformative journey from a former burnout party girl to a spiritual explorer, struggled for years with poor mental health, desperately seeking a ‘magic cure’ to alleviate her pain. Like many people, she experimented with various conventional methods, hoping to find a solution. Eventually, she opened up to alternative paths, leading her into the wonderful, if often weird, world of wellness. Leaving behind her 9–5 job at a major social media marketing agency, Georgie immersed herself in the realm of wellness. She earned certifications in EFT tapping, yoga, and reflexology, establishing her own business with a mission to guide others in their healing. Through workshops, events, classes, and private sessions, she has appreciated the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, gaining deep insights into their unique perspectives and challenges.

Marie Tierney

Marie Tierney was a finalist in the Daily Mail First Novel competition and her debut crime novel, Deadly Animals, was selected by bestselling crime writer Peter James as his winner. She cites Richard Adams, Margaret Atwood and Stephen King among her literary influences and, when she is isn’t researching criminal history, she writes plays, poetry and creates art in different mediums. Born and raised in Birmingham, Marie held various jobs across four counties and dedicated almost twenty years to working in education before becoming a full-time writer. She now lives in The Fens with her husband and son.

Ashley Tate

Ashley Tate worked for over a decade as an editorial writer and editor for various publications as well as Canada's first online magazine. Writing a novel and seeing it published is really the only thing on her bucket list and she's ecstatic to be checking that off.
